Restoration for Future Generations.

Ways you
can help

Prairie nebraska, a program of The Nature Conservancy, was created to restore the heritage and natural beauty of prairie in Nebraska. Roadsides, recreational areas and other public areas should be showcases of Nebraska’s rich floral heritage. As Nebraskans, native grassland is a rich part of our history. It makes our landscape compelling, welcoming and beautiful. Together with you, we can ensure that future generations will be inspired by the kind of beauty that inspired our forefathers.

Restoring and enhancing native prairie is important for conservation. The use of native plant species helps prevent the introduction of invasive plants and ensures that those used adapt to the site.

Diverse native plant communities are better for native wildlife. They provide better vegetation structure, a higher diversity of beneficial insects, and are more productive than low-diversity grasslands.
